Day 1

I began this artpiece by finding an image I liked and traced it on tracing paper. I then pressed the traced image on my actual paper to get a good preview of where to start coloring. I began coloring the cap of my character. There is a lot of color in this drawing so it was going to take time if I wanted it to look good.

Day 2

Knowing that I didn’t start off in the best spot, because I am right handed I worked left to right.

Day 3

Spending much time to color and get good details in every aspect of this artpiece I realized that it was bringing a dissapointment. I could not fulfill this artwork with all that I knew. I asked my professor how to improve on it. I was understood that it was good that all I needed to do was fill the gaps between the artwork. So I did what I could to improve this color drawing and hoped for the best to come.

Judgement Day

This is the final outcome. I am satisfied with it, knowing I could do better is what lingers in my future drawings. All my drawings have the potential to please me, just depends on how I am looking at it. I did my best at this drawing. That is why I am O.K. with it. Overall it looks alright. It came out to what I expected, lots of colors that awe the viewer. I like that about this pastel. It can be seen as a failure knowing that I could have done better. Or, it can be seen as a hit and miss. Thats what I like about my drawings.

Day 1

Anticipation, eagerness, anxiety, these emotions stirred as I began the process of an ineluctable process know as “watercolor”. I traced my drawing from my computer, scaled a 5″ x 7″ portrait, using three simple watercolor pencils, red, blue, and yellow. Intertwining several colors to reach a balance of the spectrum, to please the eye, such as making green and purple from these pencils. Creating color harmony, this watercolor was to be a piece of art that is to be recognized.

Day 2

Doomed, devastated, cursed, que sera sera, and other words from dictionary.com under doomed. This drawing amazed me when I was drawing it, colors coming out good, lines even, shapes in place. Then I added a “light-effect” seeing that it would come out even better. I waited the next day and saw this, the white light betrayed me, it mutilated my piece. My first true piece. I enjoyed the very sight of my artwork, the day earlier, but time soothes all wounds. I was betrayed by time itself, it drenched itself into my drawing excavating all my pride and taking it all away. I abhorred the drawing utensils, the paints, the paper, the art. Although, I created this abomination, I knew I could create the glorified.

Judgement Day

Today, I stand proud next to my drawing. Astonished by the relic of art, I knew all along this drawing was to become a “piece”. The vivid colors, the laud sight, this watercolor was not redone, not refurbished, but relived. Putting in time and effort to undo the agony, I bore art. I believe this drawing is one of the good ones I have going on. But knowing all of this, I do not like it. I am proud that I made art. But dishonored because I could have done better.

Why I Chose It: I liked how the plants are drawn in front of other dark ones, which helps give out good detail to both.

What About the Reference Image can I Intergrate: There is two objects one being dark and back, the other being light and upfront. There is a soft odd colored background to stand out both objects.

Why I Chose It: It looks awesome. The horse is like in attack mode. There is lots of motion. Its a fluid drawing. I also like the background.

What About the Reference Image can I Intergrate: There is a light colored main focus. There is a dark background to bring out the objects. Background seems to swirl into the main object.

Why I Chose It: First cause I had to. Second because it has soothing colors which got my attention.

What About the Reference Image can I Intergrate: I can see this artist understood color harmonies. This picture identifies an at-ease quality. The dark, soft colors make it almost relaxing.

Interesting Factoid About the Artist: “Xiao Fan was born in 1992.  He came from a very small village along the Yangtze River.  A flood killed his parents when he was young.  All of his paintings are inspired by memories of his village, because he misses it and his family so much” this is straight from source.

Day 1

Irritated and confused I understood the basics of 2nd point perspective, but could not put in on paper. I could not get measurements lengths, distances, or get a single cross shape. I was outraged of the outcome. So simple but no effect.

Day 2

The beast was subdued. I got help in getting the cross done. After the cross everything else came in harmony. I had my basic box shapes for the tower. The domes under the cross became alligned. I had a better chance of completing this drawing. There is a chance.

Day 3

Getting the tower away. I gave detail to the tower to give me a basic unit of structure. Cross, windows, and buildings were pin-point to their vanishing point. This drawing became an easy work of art. Patience and ingenuity were applied.

Day 4

Looking at this drawing I was amazed by how bedazzling it came to be. From insane fustration, to an elegant piece. My drawing was in good condition. Then. Being told I have to redo the entire bottom half I was then agitated. The bottom half of the tower was pointing to a vanishing point on the paper. This was illegal. All lines pointing outside the drawing stayed there. That was my mistake. Although captivated by this drawing more work was applied.

Day 5

Amending the wounds of the bottom half, I understand better what 2nd point perspective really means.

Day 6

All major details were being drawn. Two different trees. The buildings came out well for a two point perspective. Rendering still not in effect. But overall the drawing is finished. All I had to do from here on out was darken lines, increase shadows and textures.

Judgement Day

My drawing came out alright, I believe it could be better.

Why I Chose It: Give me a great example of what 2 point perspectives are, having two vanishing points on two opposite sides. This drawing was by far the most informative I have seen.

What About the Reference Image Can I Intergrate: I can see clearly there are two vanishing points on opposite ends and also these lines meet on a verticle corner of the house.
